Medicare and private insurance will continue paying what is currently covered, e.g. Doctor visits, medications, hospitalizations, rehabilitation stays, home health.

What Financial Options are there?

Answer:

Private Pay – Assisted living is primarily a private pay industry; you will be invoiced monthly. These funds normally come from sources such as retirement benefits, social security, investments, savings, and the sale of a home or other assets.

Long-term Care insurance Policy – If you, or your loved one, has a long-term care policy, we will be happy to complete the paperwork necessary to file a claim within your first 30 days of residency. These funds, when approved, will be paid directly to the policy holder or the Power of Attorney, and can then be used to pay the monthly invoice.

VA Aid and Attendance – Honorably discharged war-time Veterans and their spouses may be eligible for this benefit through the Veterans Administration. We will be happy to provide you with contact names to find out more about this valuable benefit.

CHOICES – Sunnington is not currently set up to receive funds through the Tennessee Medicaid program known as CHOICES. If you or your loved one are Medicaid eligible, you will want to contact your Social Worker to find out what assisted living communities in the area do accept this method of payment.
